A full set of photos from the trip to Maplelag can be found here, along with the results of the short time trial on Sunday morning.

Ski Meet Information

Here are some items to remember for the ski meets:

  1. Students need to have their parents contact the school at least the day before the meet to let them know they will be leaving early for a ski meet.
  2. Put your name on your skis and poles. There will be a number of skis/poles lying on the ground that will look like yours.
  3. Put your skis and poles in a bag or tie them together. Remember to put your name on your bag.
  4. Bring some outer layers to wear while you warm up. You won't need to wear as much clothing during the actual race.
  5. Bring some dry clothing with you to change into after the meet.
  6. Make sure you bring drinks with you. Most likely the ski meet locations will not have a place to get water.
  7. If you have any questions about the ski meet or ski racing in general, please talk to one of the coaches.

Maplelag Ski Trip - January 4th - 6th 2008

Plans for the Maplelag ski trip are going well.  There is a link to a document below that provides details on the Maplelag ski trip.  If you're interested in attending the ski trip, please read the information.  We will be discussing the ski trip at the rescheduled ski team meeting on Saturday.  With the trip just four weeks away, we need to have the trip payment by Monday, December 10th so that plans for transportation and lodging can be finalized.  We will try to accommodate everyone who is interested in attending, but if we end up having a limit to the number of skiers that can attend, we will accept skiers based on the order in which payment was received.  So if you're planning to participate, please bring the payment to the rescheduled meeting or to practice on Monday, December 10th.  If you have any questions about the trip, please contact John Resman at jresman@gmail.com.

ACNST First practice session will be at Quarry Hill Park on Monday Dec 10th, 4:00 pm

The first practice session of the season will be at Quarry Hill park on Monday December 10th starting at 4:00 pm. Temps are expected to be in the teens, so dress appropriately. For those of you unable to make it to the sign-up meeting on Saturday, you can sign-up on Monday. Also remember to bring along the completed form and payment if you are palnning on going on the Ski trip to Maplelag in Januray 4th.

Training Clinic for Nordic coaches - Friday Dec 7th

Gotraining_small

If you are interested in helping to coach this year’s high school / middle school ski team, but were worried that you would not know what to do, here is an opportunity to learn. We plan to hold a coaches clinic on Friday December 7th from 3:30 pm until about 8:00pm. Piotr Bednarski from Go!Training will be holding the clinic. The purpose is to teach the coaches the basics of skiing so that they can better teach the kids. If you are interested in signing up as a coach and have not done so, please contact Michael at mkoconnor@mayo.edu.

All City Nordic Ski Team - Tuesday December 4th, 7:00 pm

The sign-up meeting for this year's ACNST program will be in the New Cafeteria in Century High School on Tuesday December 4th starting at 7:00 pm. This year we are planning on a weekend ski retreat to Mapelag Ski resort on the 4th - 6th January. Since we need to get some idea of numbers prior to our meeting on December 4th, those planning on attending should contact John Resman at jresman@gmail.com as soon as possible. This year we anticipate over 100 skiers joining the program.  Any news or changes will be posted on the ACNST Bulletin board which can be accessed from the left panel on the RASC web site.
