August 16th, Saturday, meeting at Chesterwoods for the Moonlight Paddle, meet at 8:45 PM by the boat launch and paddling starts at 9:00 PM under the light of the moon.

Meet at the boat launch at ChesterWoods around 8:45PM. Start paddling at 9:00PM till 11:00PM under the light of the moon. This is very easy paddling and fun for the entire family. Bring along your kayak/canoe and gear. Life jackets are to be worn at all times while on the water.
 
 
ChesterWoods Park (8378 Highway 14 East, Eyota, MN 55934) is located 7 miles east of Rochester on Highway 14. All vehicles must have a park pass to enter the park.
 

Tyrol Paddle Nights

Tyrol Ski & Sports presents "Paddle Nights". Join their staff to test out a variety of Kayaks & Canoes from Perception, Prijon, Wilderness Systems, Current Design and Wenonah. Test how design and materials affect performance and function. If you would like to attend a demo please call them or come into the store at least 3 days prior to the paddle night to register. Come prepared to get your feet (and possibly more) wet!

All demos are held at Chesterwoods County Park from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. Dates are subject to change depending upon weather conditions. Chesterwoods Park (8378 Highway 14 East, Eyota, MN 55934) is located 7 miles east of Rochester on Highway 14. The Park does charge an entry fee. Follow signs to the "Boat Ramp" and look for the Kayaks and Canoes!

Mississippi River Challenge - July 26th- 27th, 2008

The Great River Energy Mississippi River Challenge is a one- or two-day event, July 26 & 27, 2008, to raise awareness of the Mississippi River in the Twin Cities. There are several options for participants:

You can participate by bicycle on the many beautiful trails in the river gorge, or by paddling your canoe or kayak and exploring the Cities from the perspective of the River. All participants pay a registration fee and are asked to raise pledges for river protection…and earn spectacular premiums for your efforts. All food and beverages for the weekend, safety and sag support, shuttles, interpretive highlights, live music and camping at Fort Snelling are included in the participant registration fee. Come experience and protect this amazing river!

Great River Rumble! 2008 - July 26 - August 2

Each year, The Great River Rumble is put on by Midwest River Expeditions, Inc. a non-profit organization, dedicated to helping people enjoy the rivers and promote environmental consciousness. This year the 7-day trip goes from Menomonie, WI to LaCrosse, WI.
